Peter Lang Young Scholars Award 2014

For more than 40 years, the Peter Lang Publishing Group has been striving to ensure the best possible distribution of academic publications. The publishing programme is internationally oriented and one of the largest of its kind in the fields of humanities and social sciences, as well as in law and economics.

The Award

Peter Lang GmbH would like to offer young researchers the opportunity to publish their findings in its programme. But funding a publication is not always easy, especially for young scholars.

Which is why the Peter Lang Young Scholars Award has been set up. Award-winning works will be published free of charge – in both hard copy and e-book formats.

The award will recognise outstanding monographs. Applications will be accepted from young scholars up to the age of 35.

In 2014, the award will be given in four fields (humanities, social sciences, law and economics). Two works from each field will receive the award.

Applications can be submitted, starting immediately and up to 15 October 2014. The Peter Lang Publishing Group will select the winners of the award who will be notified by 15 November 2014 at the latest and announced on the company’s website.

Applications should contain the following documents, compiled into a single PDF file:

1. Exposé (up to 1,800 characters)
2. Table of contents
3. Extract from the work (up to 9,000 characters)
4. Information detailing the status of the work and completion date
5. If the publication in question is for qualification purposes: a review or letter of recommendation
6. Author’s academic c.v.
Applications should be submitted by e-mail to the Programme Manager at Peter Lang Publishing Group in Frankfurt, Oliver Waffender o.waffender@peterlang.com who is also available to answer any queries you may have.

There is no right of appeal.
